Are people just stupid or is my explaining bad? - 06-08-2004, 02:49 AM

http://www.hotlinkhosting.com/domains/resellers/

I've (lately) been getting a couple people a week contacting me asking me to explain my domain reseller accounts to them. I tell them to go to my site and they say they already did. I don't have time to re-explain this to several people a week and some of them don't even understand when I explain it to them (as if they were 7) over im or email. Does my site do a bad job of explaining this?

What the heck am I doing wrong?

well, its not that your not explaining right, it might just be that its a new concept for a lot of people.

i dont quite understand your fustration however, if people were asking for your services, there is a reason. I would honestly just try to persuade them to become your domain reseller, if not, then no biggie, maybe they will come back later. i dont think its something to get all stressed over.

You don't understand. I don't have time to re-write my entire webpage to each individual through an im or email just because they don't understand. And if they don't understand what I have written then they are having the wrong dream, imo and they'll only cost me more frustration once a customer by not know what they heck they are doing. If they can't understand what I am offering from what my website says, do you really think they can use the services I am offering without asking me what to do every 5 minutes?

I have one criticism of the page....your font is VERY small.

Some people simply won't take the time to read if it is hard to read the page. What are the questions people are asking? Why not change the web page to first answer all of those questions in very simple language. Even define what reselling is and explain how it is effective and can work for them. Then if someone wants to read about the plans, they can do so.

If you are getting that frustrated with potential customers, you need to solve it.

Maybe a "Demo" account would be in order?

I agree you should really make some type of demo and add an FAQ about it. If you don't of course your going to get questions about it.
