Did any one get into this situation?

I have a server with servermatrix with cpanel. Now I need to change options in php and have two versions of php ( apache module and cgi ). But I find no way to do so from the tools provided in cpanel with their easyapache script. And if I manually compile php from the source from the source directory, and then run easyapache, it goes back to hard-coded options.

I posted trouble ticket with servermatrix and cpanel and received absolutely no result. I am totally disappointed with servermatrix. Looks like I am in a cage and only way to get out is to go with another company.

As a last resort, I am posting on this forum hoping that some one might have been in this situation and have an answer.

Depends on what you need to add to the php. You can edit the php.ini file and it won't effect your setup other than adding the new feature. It is not SMs job to edit or maintain your PHP/mySQL/Apache setups unless you are paying for their fully managed features.

Not sure if this is related, but at one point, I did notice that if you select certain options, it ends up not compiling properly. I spent so much time on this problem, and I forget exactly what it was, but I was trying to compile GD along with other options, and GD would end up not being compiled into PHP.
