Shoutcast server - 04-15-2004, 09:02 AM
Hi All,

Does any one running Shoutcast server on your linux box?, How about the CPU and BW load.

Anybody has good/bad experience.

We have serveral customers that use this. The product seems ok and only uses a lot of BW if they have a lot of listeners. Most of our customers use it for their own personal use.

I ran this at one time for a client, and cpu usage was pretty minimal, but then again I run Dual Xeons, so alot is very minimal :D

But I would assume that it does not hog much cpu, since most of the time it just caches and repeats 'packets'.
