Thumbs up iKobo is ok - 04-28-2004, 09:01 PM

I personally use iKobo to receive money from a foreign country, I am from Romania BTW. iKobo were the only company I could find which covered Romania, and which also had no account setup fee, since I couldn't afford that. So far it's been working alright, after the first time someone put money into my account, iKobo sent me a visa card and then I could get the money from a visa ATM, it was real easy and convenient. Haven’t had any type of problems so far, I hope things will stay like this.

Now that you mentioned it I did some research and you are right. Their fees seem to be lower than most of their competitors'. I didn't really care about that when I signed up because at that time I just needed a company with a lot of country coverage, and ikobo was it. But now, I've grown more aware of these things and learned a thing or two, and apparently, to my pleasant surprise, I found out that I had made a good choice after all. Good for me I guess! :ohyeah:

For me it is pretty special. I live in Eastern Europe and I am very happy that my country is in the 220 countries list supported by iKobo. People from around the globe can pay my services now. Another good thing is their iKard which arrives in max 5 days from the time the customer receives his first payment into his ikobo account. I have an ATM Visa plus machine located near to my place and when I am receive an e-mail with payment confirmation I go to the ATM and withdraw my money. And for 4% transaction fee, with no setup fee, no inter country fee, no monthly fee and no multicurrency fee I think this must be something special.

Such curious language in threads like these.

As for me, I'll stick to Paypal. I know it's somewhat limited as some countries are not accepted there, but I myself and my company are happy with them. For our international clients, there are other ways available if they cannot pay via Paypal.

Nobody said there aren't but a businessman always chooses the best way for him and his company. PayPal is good for USA and another 3 countries but when you go global I think that iKobo would be my first choice (cheap and fast). That's how I like it :)

Exclamation -- long post -- - 05-07-2004, 01:10 PM

OK, I first of all I really don't see anything "curious" about my language. I like to think I can speak and type English quite well, maybe even better than a lot of Americans for example (I'm not saying that about you CrazyTech), and besides, in case you didn't notice, I'm from Romania, and, this might come a shock to you, we don't have English as our native language over here (yes, there actually are other languages besides English). No offense.
About your paypal choice, it's your choice, and you are free to do whatever you please. A little parable if you don't mind (actually it's inspired by what someone said about Microsoft and Macintosh, I think it was some guy from Novell or Java or something like that, I might be wrong though). Say you have a car that runs ok, has occasional breakdowns, and you can only drive it on a couple of roads (USA, Canada, UK and a few others :secret: ), and then someone else builds a new car and it's as good as the old one, maybe even better. You can drive it on almost every road, costs less to run, and breaks down less often. Oh, and it runs faster than your old car. What would you do? It's true, you feel safe in your old car, but who knows how much better you'd feel in the new one. Anyway, it’s just a thought.
Forgive me if I am boring you. I just felt like writing today, maybe I need to prove my English isn't that "curious" after all. Cheers mate!
