Actually, I have done a little research regarding paydirect and things aren't looking that good. They charge a fee for all transactions; send activation info via snail mail and they only handle transactions made in the United States.

Yahoo has made several changes to its online payment service, PayDirect. Among them, PayDirect enlisted HSBC Bank to handle the money transferring operations and introduced fees for every transaction :( . These fees alone--30 cents plus 2.5% of the amount of the payment make PayDirect less enticing than ikobo for example, which offers many free services. Worse, PayDirect still makes you wait a week for a snail-mail letter that grants you permission to activate your account, and the service offers no help with payment disputes.
This is what I've learned, decide for yourself.

I'm not sure whether ikobo is the oldest or not. I think they've been around for 2 years now. That however doesn't really matter, as long as they are trustworthy and they respect their customers. So far that's how I see them and I wish I can still say this after 2 more years. Keep my fingers crossed. ;)

I think that ikobo is older than 2 years. They improve their service almost monthly. I use them too. Now they will add a feature that permits to a PayPal user to transfer his/her funds thru ikobo anywhere he/she likes considering that ikobo covers a very large number of countries.

Oh, ok, I see. That feature you mentioned seems quite useful, especially for people not within paypal's area of coverage (and they are a lot). I personally see a bright future ahead for this company. I hope I'm not mistaking, so far they haven't done anything to prove me otherwise.

Question help - 06-30-2004, 12:52 PM

OK, I'm sorry to for bringing this thread back, but I have a question regarding ikobo. So far I've only used them to receive money but right now I want to send some money to my brother. Could someone who already uses them tell me what I must do to accomplish this?
Thanks a lot! :)

This is a quote from ikobo.com:
You just have to follow the steps :

To send money just:
Register for an iKobo account.
Add a credit or debit card to your account.
Verify the credit or debit card.
Add a recipient to your account.
Send the recipient money.

Log on to www.ikobo.com. Click on the “Send Money” tab. You will be prompted to enter your recipient’s name, address, and how much you would like to send. If the recipient is an existing iKobo customer all you will need is the recipient’s iKobo account number.

Ok, I see. I wanted to know if you actually did this yourself and it worked. Thanks for the answer, I guess I should have found that myself on their website. It's more fun to post here, I like this community.
