Talking Server Matrix down, affecting The Planet clients also.. - 03-20-2004, 08:22 AM

Well server matrix/the planet routers have been going on and off like yo-yos the last few hours. At this point we're past a total of 1 hour downtime which is affecting one of my servers.

There is some news about it on WHT and some really funny comments, here are a few.

Oh, and answer support tickets about servers being unreachable

So, we will probably have to go through this all weekend until little Johnny gets the Walmart order right. Finally little Johnny (the newest Network Engineer at SM) will get a flat tire on his bike just as he is about to make it back with the correct cables..

OK, I will stop.. But you know I have to wonder if this is really the sort of thing that is going on over there?

Of course I am joking here about Johnny and such..

They have no clue, don't bother phoning.

Evidently the monkeys are trying to figure out what's wrong. They also know nothing about the SLA.

Oh I know all about hardware failures.
You're right... they do happen, and that's why I'm with SM...
So far I've gotten great service with them, and being a company that acctually has an SLA, and managed options... well they've got my business till they majorly screw something up.

I moved from ev1 because of crappy service and the whole SCO disgust.

Update:

The CAR routers that were down are all now back up and performing normally.

We are investigating the cause of the problems and will issue a formal RFO once it have been determined.
Hmm wierd.... thats what they said at least
