What CMS should i use ? - 01-27-2004, 05:42 PM

Hello all,

I wanted to know which CMS will suit the following requirement. I read a few articles on choosing a CMS but they were too general, although they helped me to pen down my requirements. Any and all suggestions are welcomed.

1. I have lots of tutorials on asp, c, c++. My friends and I are writing many more so there will be a huge pile of them in few months. Also i wish to have a facility for users and visitors to submit articles to the site.

2. I have a forum already installed (invision board V1.3 final) so it should use the same member information database. It must have a plugin or something like that so that invision members can access the CMS.

3. I already have a layout for my site ready, its a three column website, the first column displays the menu, the second column displayes the content and the third column is reserved for ads and sponsored links. Besides this the site has the banner and footer

4. A download section is required. Downloads should be viewable by all, but downloadable to only members.

5. Also it should be easy to transfer the site from 1 server to another in case of emergency or a crash.

6. CMS should be in php/mysql only and preferably free :D

Can someone suggest a CMS which meets these requirements? Thank you for reading such a long post :)

If U want a script for Ur users to post articles & viewers to post comments try silverscript.de.
However it is no where related with forums.
If U find anything else inform me too.

that's not very hard at all to do ;) you can try doing it yourself, which you should be able to do. Take a read: http://www.phpfreaks.com/ . Or you could get phpnuke (http://www.phpnuke.com/).
