My vote goes for Invision, it edges V-bulletin just because of the cost, otherwise V-B has to be the best.

Invision is arguably the best one around. Though vbulletien is also great but its a paid forum. In the asp scripting, i guess snitz still rules.

Snitz is an asp based forum which can be run using Mysql or mdb databases. The connection can be dsn or dsnless both. Its simple, fast and a wonderfull support.
