What do You use.... - 03-14-2004, 08:38 AM

What do you prefer to use for client tracking....(ie..billing and stuff related to their package)

We currently run Modernbill after having used WHMAP and find MB to be much better:) Thats our opinion.

Clientexec is great for an affordable price, but they are somewhat lacking in features and slow on upgrades. I recommend it, however, for those who are looking for a simpler solution than modernbill. :)

There's also PerlBill, but judging from their forums, they don't have many happy customers...

Depending on your situation.... a simple way to differentiate would be

Modernbill is compatible with more OS/control panels, and scalable.

WHM-AP is great for Cpanel-only webhosts, as it is easy to setup and ready to use out-of-the-box.

Good ol' fashion excel spreadsheets for all billing and accounting stuff. Still works best for me.

I know there are more. I will try searching to make up a list.
We've been using Ubersmith (http://www.ubersmith.com/) for billing our hosting customer base for a few years. It's a hosted solution (aka, on their severs), which has worked to our advantage a few times with server migrations.

If you needed direct access to your database on one of your servers (for integrating with other apps, etc.) I'd recommend going with something else. But if you need a straightforward billing app, it's served us well.

For client & leads tracking (CRM) we use the Salesforce.com, and have been really happy with it.

Thanks!
