Question Am I somehow blocking spiders? - 05-23-2004, 10:45 AM

Well I'm getting desperate. I lie awake wondering if I've made some fundamental error at www.greatstuff.co.uk

The site has been live for about two months and here are site report card result as at today:

Summary Results for www.greatstuff.co.uk
Site Title: Find UK Stuff Easier. Find it Easier at Great Stuff UK. The Easier UK Search
Site URL: http://www.greatstuff.co.uk
Date: May 23, 2004, 1:26 am
Overall Rating: Perfect

Details Rating Summary
Link Check Perfect Broken links: 0
HTML Check Perfect HTML Errors: 0, warnings: 23
Load Time Check Good Load Time: 26.94 seconds
Meta Tag Check Perfect Meta Tag Warnings: 0
Spell Check Perfect Possible Misspellings: 3
Keyword Check Excellent Total words: 157

Search Engine Checks (click on a number to view results)

Google HotBot AllTheWeb AltaVista Lycos MSN AOL
Search Engine Inclusion 923 2 0 0 N/A 0 892
Link Popularity 171 40 0 0 0 0 177

So 923 listings in Google and link pop of 171

However Google toolbar gives me a PR of 0 and backward links shows as just 2.

I've submitted to every directory I can find and paid in a lot of cases. I know therefore that the site is in Joe Ant, Gimpsy and many more. DMOZ submission was done some time ago. The whole site has mod_rewrite and all pages are static.

This it the content of the robots.txt file:

User-agent: *
Disallow: /admin/
Disallow: /banner/
Disallow: /hidden/
Disallow: /img/
Disallow: /lang/
Disallow: /logo/
Disallow: /offer/
Disallow: /upload/

Is there anything that I'm doing wrong?

Is there anything that I can improve?

Please help,

Thank you

Malcolm

I wouldn't sweat it until you hear people talking about PR updates.. My sites only 4 months old, 2 of which it was a PR0 for a while, then popped to a PR4 out of no where.. Give it another month or 2 before you worry.. PR updates may take a while with everything that google has going on.. You are listed and thats the main goal..
