Search Engine Optimization Contest - 05-10-2004, 03:56 AM

I'm not sure where to post this... but I guess this would be the most related place. If it isn't, it can always be moved to the General forum I guess.

Unique little contest going on over at DarkBlue. It's the SEO CHALLENGE... read below for details.

Everyone knows that Google has changed the way they rank sites. Now that the algorithm's changed and everyone is competing again can you take a page to #1? More importantly, can you keep it there? Together with SearchGuild.com, we?ve put together a competition titled "SEO Challenge" to sort the Players from the Stayers.

DarkBlue.com is giving away an Apple Mini iPod? and a Sony Flat Screen Monitor to any Webmaster or SEO who can take their page to #1 for a non-commercial, non-sensicle search term - currently with no search results. The term will be announced on the official competition thread at SearchGuild on 7th May at 9am GMT. Get there any way you can to win a prize.

The competition is judged at two different stages and prizes will be awarded to the Player and the Stayer.

The competition runs from the 7th of May to the 7th of July.

The Player prize goes to the page that is ranked #1, one month after the competition commences. They will receive an Apple Mini iPod? valued at $249 shipped to them within 72 hours of judging.

The Stayer prize goes to the page that has the #1 ranking on the 1st of July. They will receive a Sony Flat Screen Monitor valued at $549 shipped to them within 72 hours of judging.
Interesting, huh? The nonsense keyword phrase is "nigritude ultramarine" go ahead and search for it if you want to. Some guy bought the domain especially for the contest, lol. I wish I could compete in such a contest... but I don't know much at all about search engine optimization. Oh well, I'll look forward to seeing the results updated over at SEO Challenge News.

I will never look at an eel the same way again after watching "More Eels". If you don't know what I'm referring to, feel blessed you haven't.
