Please help me out! - 09-01-2003, 10:59 PM

Hello everyone,

I am writing hre for the first time. I have been in the Internet Business Industry for long. I am planning to extend my hands further, and so am interested in investing in domain hosting. As said, I want to try out first as a reseller company, and then go full fledged. I wish to know a couple of things here:

1. Can you please suggest me a very good and cost effective reseller program, with excellent features for a novice like me?

2. When I am a webhost company, do I automatically become a domain hosting company also? Or are they completely seperate? Please comment.

3. Can anyone comment on WildWestDomains.com reseller program?

I wOuld be greatful for this to all of you.

Thanks a lot.
Althaf Ahmed

Reseller Accounts - 09-02-2003, 10:56 AM

My Web Star has reseller packages starting at $ 49.00 per year.

Reseller accounts are great to start out, it is in fact they way we started. The problem with choosing a reseller provider is the fact that there are alot of "rip offs" out there. Two to definately stay away from are Web Hosting Factory, and InterOptics Networks. We were ripped off by both of these firms and had all our data destroyed and they never answer e-mail. After reasearching these companies you'll find that they have a bad reputation, selling mainly on EbaY and if you do a whois on them you'll find they sell until they run into the inevitable selling much more space than they actually have and the servers crash. They simply move on with your money open a new domain and start over.

There is not much good in finding a "good deal" if you have to buy several "good deals" each year your customers WILL NOT Approve of being moved or down for days at a time. This was the primary reason we built our own Network Operations Center and Internet Backbone connections.

Make sure you choose wisely or it could be your doom in the hosting business, ask questions and demand honesty from your reseller provider.

Don't know much about wilddomains.com but 99.0 per year, what is the charge per domain you register? We recommend either a domain reseller account with either godaddy.com or mediawiz.biz MediaWiz is an overseas company but offers wholeasale registrations at $ 8.99 per year and you can set your own resell rates. Hands Down Godaddy.com is the best, but if you want to start with little investment then choose MedaiWiz.

You should also look to partner with companies that can compliment your offerings without infringing on your business. My Web Star is looking for resellers for our hosting services and our Dial Up Access. My Web Star markets Dial Up Access for only $ 9.50 per month and pays $ 5.00 per sign up you generate. Since you are not selling dial-up access you maximize your return on the customer without additional cost.

Hope this helps and if we can be of further assistance send us an email or visit us online.

Some more info required. - 09-02-2003, 11:20 AM

Hello here,

Wildwestdomains belongs to godaddy. You are refering to this one itself.

I wish to know of reseller service, that is:

Linux/ Unix Based, that lets me create my hosting packages and rate plans, rock-solid suport, experienced, turn-key system, low start-up cost, and is totally anonymous and private labeled.

Could anyone help here?:(

Thanks
Althaf

Like we said we are not familar with wildwestdomains.com only the reputation of godaddy.com. If godaddy.com operates wildwestdomains.com then it's probably a good deal, as long as you get a good wholesale rate on the domains your registering.

If you don't want to pay the $ 99 to wildwestdomains.com then look at mediawiz.biz as they have no setup fee and a $ 8.99 per year registration cost. You could always sell domain registration as a loss leader for hosting the domain names. Something Internet Companies have gotten away from, but a loss leader will get customers to your site.

Hope that helps

My Web Star

From our prospective and looking between hostgator.com and valuereseller.com we would choose hostgator.com. Both companies have high prices but based on the reviews posted around the web hostgator would come out ahead.

We have said in our other posts that web hosting companies should link to there competition if they are convinced there service is comparable or superior. My Web Star will be adding a link to hostgator.com from our site for our customers to review and can compare our hosting services to theirs before making a decision.

There are thousands of resellers you can buy from, your best solution is to go with the company that you believe to be the best and not what I or anyone else thinks, naturally all hosting providers believe their service is better than the rest. You will do the same thing, sell your service as better than the rest. But what matters is what is comfortable for you. If you like the companies plan and communicate with them and are happy with the response time, level of expertise in the hosting business, etc. then you have found the right host. Price should be the last consideration when choosing a host, and any good host isn't afraid of competition and should be willing to discuss other prospects with you even if it means loosing your business to another provider. Most will disagree with me on this as if they refer there clients to the competition then they will eventually be out of business. My Web Star has no problem with this, sometimes there are customers that are ideally suited to be with another provider as there requirements we can not meet. It is better to admit that we can't support a feature or requirement and move you to someone else than to say we can support and then fail on the promise. It is proven over and over if a customer is unhappy with you they will shout it from the roof tops to anyone who will listen. If they are happy with your service they may not shout but they will speak out when they learn someone is looking for a provider, you will be the 1st mentioned and the one defended to new prospects.

Again we hope this helps.

You are invited to visit our site at www.sunwestnet.net.

We have a rather unique approach to hosting that you may find refreshing. We provide reasonably priced hosting packages that permit you to host your own site as well as additional sites for a single monthly fee. For example, you can host 4 sites for a low monthly charge of $29.95. That works out to about $7.49 a month. Or if you are looking for room for more sites, we can give you 12 sites for $49.95 a month, or about $4.16 each! That's cheap!

And these are not stripped down web sites. With each one you get at least 100 email accounts, MySQL databases, PHP, free software, and a lot more.
