If you are reselling hosting services, and the client wants the account info to ftp into it himself, you obviously can't allow that if you are sharing the same reseller account amongs multiple clients... OR is there a way to do that?
otherwise, how do you tell the client they can't ftp into their site?
why cant they ftp? you dont have a reseller account, if they cant ftp, you have a "multiple domain" account, dont confuse the two they are two completely different things. How are they uploading their files now?
The clients I've had so far have been personal friends with no computer abilities ("whats ftp?") So, yeah, I think I am thinking of a multiple domain account, which gives me a ton of webspace that I can share with clients; I can put all my htmldocs & images in a clients subfolder, but there's only one ftp account.
I guess that account is inappropriate for reselling unless the client never wants to access via ftp, right?
This account is much cheaper, and might be a good way for me to get started before I spend the extra $ to upgrade. Want to be sure this will be a successful venture before committing larger amts of $. I'm not sure what features I HAVE to have in order to resell, because so far the only need I've had is webspace size...
features, i would say you definitly need ftp for each domain, and subdomains, databases, control panels, support forum, etc... the more information you provide for your clients, the less time you spend helping them, but if you dont have ftp, they cant install scripts, of any kind and i dont know anybody that would buy hosting without atleast having cgi, how much are you paying?
