| Redundancy -

I currently resell about a dozen domains out of my reseller hosting package. Overall, things are very reliable, but once in a while (like now, actually) something goes wrong at the datacenter where the server I share is hosted, or on the server itself, and I have downtime.
I was thinking that if possible, it would be worth it to maintain a second reseller account (with a different hosting company & datacenter) for redundancy. I wouldn't even need the secondary account to have the same functionality as the primary, just some index for each of my resold domains that provide a "maintenance" message and contact info. Anything's better than just a missing web site.
Can anyone confirm that this is possible, and if so how I would go about doing it? My existing hosting account is on a cPanel server, so I have access to modify DNS zones, but I'm not really an expert in DNS, so any suggested reading, tutorials, or past experiences would be GREATLY appreciated.
Thanks! |
