A couple of weeks ago, I bought the domain dartservers.com and made a site to go with it. It's basically a hosting reseller; the site is live, so you can visit http://www.dartservers.com/ to see it.

Things went downhill after that. I had trouble with my host, then switched to another host and had trouble with them. I'm finally on a host I'm happy with.

Promotion has been a nightmare. I haven't gotten a single sale. On the other hand, promotion for me usually is a nightmare (I'm horrible at it).

So, I've decided that this isn't the right business for me. I could probably get it going if I _really_ wanted to, but my concentration on it is being drawn away by other projects.

As a result, I'm going to sell the domain and site that I did (plus a few custom Perl scripts). If you're reasonably good promoting websites, this would be a great oppurtunity for you. I've already spent the time finding a host, calculatiing the right price (you would get about $1/month per customer plus the setup fees at the prices on the site), doing the design, writing the verbage, and making the Perl scripts. If you bought this site, you would have to do nothing more than transfer the domain, sign up for a reseller account, and un-zip the site into your account.

So, I figure $40 is a great deal for you. It's not so great of a deal for me, but i figure it's better than losing money and time.

EDIT: I've decided that $75 is a little high. So, I've changed the price to $40. It's a great deal for you . . . if promotion is your thing, this would really allow you to concentrate on just that.

Which hosting company did you finally end up with? Which ones gave you trouble? Good information for others who might be trying to build a similar business...
