Help Me With XP - 06-10-2004, 02:28 AM

I am trying to fix my dads computer it is running Windows XP Home. When I click on any of the login names (his or mine) at the Windows XP login screen, it looks like I am going to be logged in, then it says saving data and logs me out, taking me back to the original login screen. Has anyone seen this or know of a way to fix it. I really am in need of a fix. I have tried several things. My dad needs his computer back on for some business stuff.

Have you tried booting into SafeMode, than the backing up the profiles, deleteing them and re-creating them?

Yeah, I can't even get that working properly. I am almost at the point of "format c:/". Thanks for the help though.

No, I did not. We did have our neighbour come over and look at it. He does tech support for some company. He couldn't figure out whats was wrong either. I plan on formating very soon.

Hmm... that's very strange. But if you want to format, go to a friend's house and backup your most important data

If only I had Windows XP !!! I'm saving up $$$ to buy a new computer that has Windows XP. My current Windows ME is sooooo bad, and it really sucks ! Don't ever buy a Windows ME. Buy a Windows 2000 or Windows XP. Windows ME will cause alot of problems. I have restored the computer alot of times !
