It would be a nice idea appart from to current obsticles:

1. The application code would be huge.
2. It would cost too much and put people off that just want to do html or just flash, uless you are suggesting that they release it seperately from DW and Flash, which would be counter productive on theyre part: they'de just be doing loads of extra work to stitch together two existing programs that they would be hard pushed to sell for a higher price.

Nice idea for when your in the lounge drinking coffee but not when it's slapped on the boardroom desk the next day.

Eh... why would you need a code editor with flash in the same program? I don't think they interact with each other all that much unless you're making some sort of php/mysql/flash hybrid, like a guestbook or something.

Gotta agree with Yuusen, it's not practical for Macromedia to do that. Though another company might make a profit if they did combine the features of both programs and sold if for a lower price than Macromedia's.

However... it still wouldn't be Macromedia's original complex flash able-to-do-anything-because-it's-made-by-the-official-company program, so maybe it wouldn't do so well unless it caught on with people like me who can't understand flash and have to go learn a simpler version like SWiSH.

There is much validity to what you say. It would be terribly difficult blending html and flash into a developer package. This makes me think html is archiac. Will html be replaced by something more geared to rich media but still simple one day? A format we have yet to see so far.

hey im a flash man, htm is still good but has no way the same effect as flash. Summet small (yet gud) for dial up connections and itll be great
