How does the voting work? so basically it works on either, being friends with everyone, or getting lucky.. I see the reason for this technique, but the voting could get biased..

Hopefully there will be a LOT OF VOTERS by the time the voting process actually starts. In this way the winner must attract a lot of voters who aren't his friends.

Because there will be a lot of candidates I can tell you already that polling would be impractical. It would be by tallying manually post-votes voters make.
