Managing Websites - 07-13-2003, 08:39 AM

How did you learn to manage your website(s). Did you start off working for a company, reading books, jump right into it and learn from experiance, or some other way?

started when i was 20 - designed a really crappy shopping directory and just kept improving it and adding more content

learned html from this site http://www.davesite.com/webstation/html/ - i still reckon its a good tutorial site

after that it was just self taught through web sites etc:thumbsup:

I don't actually remember how i started.
Started reading the source codes but if i have to tell the truth No Tutorials , books etc. Adobe GoLive helped me a lot.
Edit the site , make modifications and see the source code .

I've been in the computer business over 25 years. Been doing network stuff for quite a while. The web stuff came about by accident, and then its been all self taught (I love tearing through other people's code). Picked up HTML and PHP by doing, and just recently dove into vBulletin by purchasing a few forum sites.
