What would U prefer a static [eg. gif] or a dynamic [eg. Flash]animation on the net.

static imho flash slows down my 56k :)

But static animation has its limitations. The programmable aspects of Flash allow for more interaction with the user, isn't it ?

static r u mad? flash is the future, static has its limitations, actionscript goes way beyond them!!!!

it also lags slower connections/computers... a lot of people are still running windows 95/98 systems and a lot of people are also on slower connections (eg. 56k).

Well... I would prefer dynamic/flash, but my connection is a little faster than a 56k (I've got a slow adsl connection). If it was a site for the masses, I'd go for static animation... until Flash is either optimized more or the standard of internet connections becomes faster anyway.


I will never look at an eel the same way again after watching "More Eels". If you don't know what I'm referring to, feel blessed you haven't.

Flash is the way to go.
Animated gif's are heavy.
Static images are outdated.
