I'll second you on that point.
I'll also agree on what you said before (the pro's).
BUT, the price is not everything. If you are registering few domain names per week, month or year then, of course, you may look for the cheapest offer around (also on this topic you may find cheaper than godaddy.)
But if you are registering a lot of domain names frequently, i'll suggest to go with another registrar. Even if i didn't experienced this by myself, i already heard a lot of bad stories concerning godaddy's support (of course, this is not really objective because, as i said, i didn't experienced anything with godaddy). Add to this, their ugly control panel and you'll regret soon your choice.
I guess, many points have to be checked before choosing a registrar. Many of them are trying to pull as down as possible their prices. BUT this is not meaning the customer will win anything. Maybe few cents.
Then, I'll suggest to check before the health of the company (don't laugh, this is really important. I don't know if anyone of you went already with StarGate.), the usability of their website (why a control panel will be better if the website is already ugly ?).
As a test run, you may send a message to their support team. Only to check how fast and efficient they will answering your request.
