It looks like big brother has a revolution on it's hands. There is a site dedicated to removing Verisign as the .com & .net registry,
http://recallverisign.com.
They list the SiteFinder fiasco and "WLS" backorder product as examples of past and future Verisgn attempts to increase their monoply and are asking visitors to sign a petition in support of their position.
Last week Verisign slapped a lawsuit on ICANN due to the suspension of SiteFinder. A Cnet News article (located at:
http://news.com.com/2100-1038_3-5168598.html) is reporting that Go Daddy has pledged $100,000 to ICANN's defense fund.
There are already online campaigns by other groups to stop both SiteFinder (
http://www.whois.sc/verisign-dns/) and WLS (
http://www.stopwls.com/).
Natural selection at it's finest, Darwin would be proud.
