Why is domain prices so different ?

Hi!

How can Enom charge $29.95 for a domainname yearly when there are sites like Namecheap that takes one third( $8.88) of that price?

Is the services exactly the same?

Clueless....

this isnt exectly the case

enom sells nearly all of its domains through its resellers - enom sets the price of $29.95 so that they are not in competition with their resellers - infact i dont think they expect anyone to pay these prices

i have a enom reseller account and pay $6.95 per domain - i can create $8.15 enom retail accounts for people - like most resellers. Namecheap are a reseller of enom so when they sell a domain they are charging more than $0.75 than i am.

The difference in prices is simply the difference in profit where you register it - if i remember right registers pay $6.50 for every domain they register

Registrars pay $6

A few registrars have deals for $5.99, $5.95, or $6.00 now. Usually you have to buy their hosting.
