For the random 2 letter domain name How high is the prices ?

For the random 3 letter domain name. How high is the prices of a random domain with ext. .com, ?.net? .org? .biz? .info? .us? I am just curious.

3 letter for .biz, .info., .us = worthless to a couple of bucks
.org = $15 to low hundreds
.net = $40 to hundreds
.com = $300 to low thousands

2 letter

.com = at least $10k
.net = at least $2000
.org = hmmm....

I would say that is FAR off the mark for .info since HMS.info just sold at Sedo for over $10,000 and I just sold TOI.info to Deutsche Telekom for $1,000 (both this week). In addition there are NO 3-letter .infos available for registration any more. One of the world's largst investors, Elequa, bought the last 2,000 over the past few weeks and finally took the last ones last night. They are now officially history, just like com, net and org.

Congrats on your sale - but in my opinion you would have had difficulty selling toi.info on a reseller marketplace for any significant price.

I look at that helpful detail you added another way - A few weeks ago there were still thousands of 3 letter .infos availible and now someone has taken a gamble on the rest.

A few weeks so those few thousand were indeed worthless.

People have trouble selling almost ANY domain on a reseller marketplace for a significant price.

The absense of available domains at a registration cost doesn't constitute a presense of sinnificant worth of those domains.

Of course not. Significant worth is going to depend on the quality of the letters. There is a world of difference between ABC.com and QKZ.com for instance. However the absence of available domains at reg fee will place some upward pressure on most combinations - not significant but noticeable and we are already seeing clear proof of that in prices paid. NW bids on 3-letter infos have doubled (or more) in the past month.

I agree for the most part but the 3 letter coms and nets are commanding a lot right now. Even the ones with crappy letters.
I'm kicking myself for all the 3 letter coms I passed up at the $100-$200 price only a year ago.
