Who cares what they doing with their company as long as we get the same service?
some people don't like being associated with the death of linux.

But what could have happened if Ev1 didnt pay the licence fees ?
they would have been sued, and linux groups like redhat, and IBM would provide them legal funding.

No idea about the Red Hat and IBM also... but if all the dedicated server providers dont pay the licence, what can SCO do ? Close them down ? Now that Ev1 has given... i believe more companies will follow suit
I think its like since SCO has been claiming rights over Linux all the while.... Ev1 servers use Linux, and thus they dont want to have length lawsuits with SCO in the future thus they paid the licencing fee to use Linux...
i have been with EV1 for nearly two years and have no intention on leaving them over this matter - i dont agree with them that they purchased a SCO licence but they did what they felt was the right decision by them and their existing clients. EV1 are just as good a company as they were before this SCO matter.
Many people say they are leaving or may have already left, but at the end of the day who is to say that the company they move to wont already have purchased an SCO licence or might do in the future. Remember that EV1 were the 1st company to announce publicly their purchase - we dont know if any other major hosts have done the same....
