H-Sphere, CPanel, or something else? - 06-01-2004, 09:00 PM

Hello there,

As always I have decided to come here to get some insight and expertise from you guys. I am going to be signing up in the next couple of days for a reseller account, and I have very little experience with how the integration and signups will work for my customers.

What I wanted to know is which system is better for me to use if I'm just starting out? I know H-Sphere allows you to create hosting plans, and then creates a signup for FOR YOU (which you simply link from your website). It also takes care of billing and invoicing.

Can anyone tell me their thoughts regarding which system is more flexible, customizable, and easy to use?

THANKS IN ADVANCE

Thumbs up H-Sphere - 06-09-2004, 06:47 AM

Well with the H-Sphere system you can do the following things:

Resell domains = Use hosting providers API with Enom, ect to reseller domains.

Create both Windows and Linux plans= Most providers will give you the ability to offer php, perl, asp, asp.NET, coldfusion, mysql, mssql, postgreSQL and mssql. Also have the ablility to offer AWstats, Urchin 5, Miva and now Knoodle and some other third party tools.

VPS= Setup Virtual Private Servers

Billing = Will do all your billing and do it well. It will let you setup as many gateways and payment options as your want such as check, paypal and a gateway. The system works with almost 30 gateways now. You also can set billing intervals, different pricing for different intervals, send clients invoices and now with 2.4 you can even allow coupons for marketing and special offers.

Email = Mail service with 2.4 now includes the ability to configure Spam and Virus protection in the end user accounts. You can also set up billing for this services or not.

SignUp - As you stated, it is all automated and a simple link with an ID for each plan will give you the ability to place links on your site to make the signup process easy for both you and the visitor.

New Looks = With 2.4 there are new templates that are very cool and have that XP look and feel.

I could go on and on but H-Sphere is a great system and is ideal for resellers. If you have any question please let me know and I will be happy to answer any other question you have about H-Sphere.

Hope this has helped and good luck in your research,

cPanel seems to be the leading control panel. I absolutely love it and use it on ALL our servers.

I would go with Cpanel, Very easy to use, and mostly used by a lot of people. Im not quite sure about the others out their, because this is the only one I use, so, good luck choosing, check around and ask a few people what they think ;)

H-Sphere isn't just a control panel.
It's a full Solution (in-build billing, support, domain registration).

cPanel is good control panel but not more. Just a control panel. :)

cPanel is good but i reckon you should go with H-Sphere because it takes care of billing, customers and the domains so you dont have to do much :)
