I am hoping to launch my site soon. I am currently using linkshare as my affiliate program. I was just interested to hear if there are any better programs.

Is it better to host advertisements instead of using affiliates? If so, what companies should I look at.

Google adsense is good for starting out. Afterwards when you get lots of hits, you might want to consider renting out banner space.
