I'm thinking it has to do with the 'Relative to' option when inserting an image. Try selecting either option and see what works for you.
Also, I've found that often times dreamweaver puts a '/' infront of the images path. Try removing the forward slash manually in the 'insert image box' and the pictures should show up.
