I learned basic html by using FP. I would set up the page how I wanted, then go in and start looking at the html and make changes to see what happens. FP is so basic that yes it does make you think you know what you are doing. As long as you keep your talent in persepctive, i don't see any harm. Not sure there are really serious designers using FP, but for people like me (who are not designers), FP is good.
